Forestry Centre: Forest Drive Cwmcarn
The beauty of starting your break at this centre is that it is very close to transport links and top class accommodation.
To the east of the village of Cwmcarn is the popular Cwmcarn Forest Drive, a popular 7 mile drive through hills and forests on the flanks of the mountain of Twmbarlwm which is operated by the Forestry Commission.
Twrch Trail - “pure singletrack” 18km
The Twrch Trail climbs steadily initially from the car park into fantastic woodland out onto open ridges with 15.5km of almost pure single track, this really is one of Wales’ hidden gems, and best of all the trail can be ridden all year.
Once you're up the top after a short stretch of rough fire road, the fast flowing singletrack back down very natural in feel, but first time round don't go crazy as there are some sections of real exposure on the edges of very steep hillside towards the end.
Downhill:
The area has seen significant recent development as the world-class Y Mynydd Mojo Down Hill Track mountain biking trail is attracting an increased volume of visitors. A new £2 million visitor centre has just been opened
This is a purpose built world class downhill with a black section for the more experienced downhill (personally I think down-hillers are all mad) singletrack being my first love!!
We can book an uplift service for you through CWMDOWN making it easier to get those big heavy bikes to the top.

Skyline Trail
The newest trail in the valley. This is a 46 km long loop, sharing the same initial climb as White's Level. It is renowned for the stunning views from the horizon line. The Jetlag section is well known for its high difficulty. There are also two shortcuts' on the route for riders who are not ready to attempt the whole 46 km
